The owner and manager are very friendly. Food is great - they can arrange breakfast, lunch and dinner for you cooked by the mother of the owner. Tasty food and safe. Owner even took me for a trip to some sights. I would recommend this riad to anyone.
This little jewel is well hidden into the maze of the Medina. However, once found it, a hot cup of mint tea, the amazing architecture and the warmth of the Riad Rcif staff will highly welcome you. The Riad is centrally located into the Medina and its panoramic terrace will positively surprise you. We had time to enjoy it a lot as we had our dinners in the Riad and spent there some very cheerful moment with Riad staff in the evening. We fully enjoyed what the Riad had to offer, included a relaxing Hammam experience. Our host, Aisha, had prepared us an amazing Hammam session including scrub and massage. Welcoming as the rest of the Raid, the Moroccan style Mammam was a nice end of evening after a day of walks and market bargains and all comfortably "in-house".
The staff and the decor of the riad. Sue "Aysha" is a very nice, friendly manager who knows how do things professionally. The riad is a real palace where you can live there as a king!
Nothing! everything was perfect
the riad is greatly decorated
air condition cannot heat the rooms
Breakfast was very bad. Could not get into the Riad at night, because the staff was not in the Riad to open the door.
From the first moment the wonderful ambience made us feel at home. Hicham and the manager Aisha were extremely helpful with information particularly on finding our way around. Food at the Riad was delicious and breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start the day before venturing out into the frenetic Medina. The rooms were big with lovely Moroccan decor. Amazing value for the price of our stay.
Riad Rcif is a breathtaking experience. Authentic morocan design, good ambiance. Fatima's pastilla is the best out of the five checked throughout Fes. Price is reasonable. Location is good, once you found your first way to the Riad...The owner family and Aisha are excellent hosts. Ha valami vibrálóan arabost akarsz, ez az a hely. Ugyanakkor tiszta, kultúrált, gyönyörűen rendbe hozott. A tulaj és a vezetés remek házigazdák. A Riadban készített pastilla a legjobb a városban. Nem könnyű megtalálni, de végülis jó helyen van.
There was a strong smell (maybe something remaining from treating the woodden parts of the interior) which was not agreeable. We did not particularly like the breakfast, as we found it very "international". Some more local flavour would be nice. The capacity of the hall is not sufficient to have all guest seated for breakfast. Smaller tables, or one large (where all can sit together) would be a better solution. Valami fa-kezelő vegyszer elég rossz szagot árasztott. A reggelit nem találtuk elég helyinek. Kevés a hely a reggeliző-helységben az összes vendéget leültetni - várni kell.
Fantastic Riad, must have spent a fortune on refurb
Difficult to find, but thats the Medina for you
Amazing - just open the door you can feel like in fairytale!!! Everything inside authentic, made by hand: floor, walls, balconys, furniture and so on. After staying in riad Rcif u can do'nt visit Palais de la Bahia in Marakech (nothing more surprise u) - riad Rcif much more better then you can emagine :)!!! From big and lovely terrace on the roof opening view to all medina. Aisha wonderfull and care owener, home made food really delicious!!! Many thanks to Aisha, her husband and all staff for unforgetable stay. After arriving to Fez aerport we had been met of a taxi driver send of Aisha because to find Riad Rcif without this service would be impossible. Also we got unbelievable guid Abdelali (very recomend to everyone) for the trek in medina (again big thank to Aisha!). 5 hours trek was unforgetable. Two days spend in Riad Rcif left warmest and best impresions for us. Just for Aishas Riad Rcif we ready come back to Fez and Marroco.
In bathroom felt strange smelled (something not very good with aer ventilation) but when you know that Riad Rcif is in oldest medina of Marroco!!! that do'nt seem a problem :).
Everything was ok: the rooms and the road are so pretty and the breakfast delicious and big.
They didn´t change sheets and the last day they didn´t help us with our luggage to take the taxi; and that service is included in other riads even the cheaper ones.
The environement at Riad Racif makes you feel living like a Pacha , every one is trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible , ,the food is so delecious which is coocked by ( Haja Fatima ) the mother of the owner (Hicham) , the other family members ( Saleem , Abdulaal and the Manager Aicha ) are very friendly and makes you feel like at home . The servant ( Hussain ) was very cooperative and helpful . The decoration was a piece of art , original morrokish style . certainly I will stay again in my next visit to Fes and recommend it for every body .
Because Riad is located in historical building in Old Madina , their are lot of Zig Zags which makes it difficult to reach , I recommend putting some signs from main road to the hotel for easy guided .
The place was beautiful and a very authentic moroccan riad. The staff was nice, but sometimes too nice for me (I do not like if the hosts are too friendly and have an artifical smile all the time and thank me everything). The room is very good choice for young couples especially for those who are on honeymoon. The terrace has a mediterran style and a good place to relax and run away from the noise of Fes. When we arrived we were offered the local must, mint tee.
The place is difficult to find at first. We arrived late in the evening, and had to ask for help to find the riad and I was very scared that we were going to be robbed or attacked because it was dark. The town is full of people offering their help for money, and said to be safe because tourists are very important for the economy of Morocco, but still I did not feel safe and the people on the streets were scary (only men of course, you can hardly see a woman on the street after sunset). Ask for directions from the riad, they have a handmade map, ask them to send it to you before you arrive and print it. The hosts were a bit too much for me. We arrived late in the evening, and were very hungry. We did not feel like going out in the dark again and find a reliable restaurant, so we had dinner in the riad. They have only menus of three courses (salads+main course+fruits). The food was delicious, but I did not know how big is a menu portion so I ordered an extra couscous (which is not on the menu hence had no published price). When we checked out two days later, we were shocked. The menu cost 280 dirhams (which we knew and expected) and the couscous which is pasta plus boiled vegetables cost 170 dirhams!!! I told the host that this is very pricey and she gave us immediately a discount of 30. It was still very expensive. In Morocco in a good restaurant (not on the streets) you can get it for 40-60. A tajine which includes meat is around 60-80 dirhams. In my country you can get goose liver for 170 dirhams. I was disappointed when we left and felt it was a scam. She was nice and gave me a little present and told me she wanted to see me smiling when I left, but I was unable to do so. The same day we had lunch in Meknes in the pizza hut, we had spagetti bolognese, a pan pizza, two diet cokes, and two grlic bread as starter, a vanilla coffee and a capuccino and this all together cost 136 dirhams just to give you an example.
A wonderful family run hotel with beautiful architecture, welcoming staff, comfortable rooms and delicious food!
Our stay in Raid Rcif was wonderfull. The riad is beautifully restored and full of mozaics, colours and atmosphere. The location is excellent in the medina of Fez. You get good directions for finding your way in this maze of little streets. The view from the rooftop is great. The rooms are very big and the decoration everywhere is beautiful. The food we ate for diner one time was excellent. The staff is friendly. Our stay was very pleasent and if we would be in Fes again we would book Riad Rcif again.
Although the diner which was cooked by the mother of the house was really great and tastefull, it was very overpriced compared to other restaurants in Fes and in Morocco. Even for a 3-course menu in Holland you don't pay that much. As the roomrate is not very high, we got the idea that the riad would like to compensate that with the dinerrate. We got a little bit the idea that we were pussed into booking a diner. Upon arrival in the Riad we were very friendly welcomed, however we do think it's important to keep up that level of friendliness during the guests stay.
Three things have made my stay at Riad Rcif an unforgetable experience : the location, the staff and the food. The Riad is within earshot of the parking lot and the marvellous Souks of the medina . The staff are attentive and very helpful. i will be back there when next im in Fes and i would tell my family and friends it is where you must stay in Fes.
